Nima TaheriNejad, Ph.D.

Nima TaheriNejad headshotNima TaheriNejad received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 2015. He currently works at the TU Wien (formerly known also as Vienna University of Technology), Vienna, Austria, in the role of Üniversit atassistant. His areas of research include self-awareness in cyber-physical systems, health-care, embedded systems, and systems on chip. He has authored a book in robotics and published in/served as a reviewer, organizer, and chair for various journals, conferences, and workshops. He has received several awards and scholarships from universities and conferences he has attended, including the best paper award at MobiHealth 2017.
Dr. TaheriNejad is one of the founders and organizers of the SelPhyS (Self-aware cyber-Physical Systems) workshop which since the beginning has been well-received by the respective community (e.g., +40 members of the community and several leaders of the field attended the last edition). He chaired the “7th EAI International Conference on Wireless Mobile Communication and Healthcare (MobiHealth)” and served as the guest editor of “Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET) Journal” and “Sensors” which feature two special issues on mobile health-care and wearable medical devices. Dr. TaheriNejad has several publications in the field of self-awareness and health-care.
